One more Chanel.I promise, I’ll review some other brand…tomorrow 😉
Chanel’s most popular lip-gloss, Glossimer, is rated 4.3/5 by 418 people on MakeupAlley. In all honesty, I’m not sure I would give it such a high one. No matter how much I adore Chanel and the signature packaging, it surely can not make up for the quality of the product. I find Glossimer way to expensive for the sticky, shimmery-in-a-blah-way texture. However, if you like rather neutral glosses and don’t mind the stickiness, it might be worth a try as there are many nice shades!
I have it in Petit Peche #148, a very sheer subtle pink.
Would I repurchase? Hm… not so sure.
Have you tried Glossimer? 🙂
Rated 4.8/5 on MUA and an A+ by yours truly, Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet is the best matte lipstick out there. As all makeup junkies are well aware, matte lipsticks are very tricky. Either they’re terribly drying or they don’t leave a proper stain. Not this one though! Chanel RAV is a long lasting matte that feels amazingly smooth and velvety on your lips. It comes in a luxurious black lacquered case. In my experience, no other matte lipstick (be it Bobbi Brown, MAC, Illamasqua…) comes close to Chanel. Check it out!
My preferred shade is #34 (La Raffinee) which suites my fair skin with warm undertones perfectly.
What’s your favorite lipstick?
A pretty Dutch model, Saskia de Brauw, is the new face of Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2013 campaign. Nothing unusual there. Except that it’s MENSWEAR we’re talking about… I have to admit I was puzzled for a second. And than lured… And now…I’m not sure if I’m
secretly attracted or slightly appalled...
How do you feel about androgyny? Appealing or appalling?
My go-to eyeshadow for highlighting inner eye and under brow ridge. Perfect! Unfortunately, I believe it was LE as it’s hard to come by. I have it in 80, a nice neutral shimmery beige which suites both warm and cool skin tones equally. Bliss! It comes as a bi-phased liquid in a glass bottle (shake, baby, shake!) with a sponge applicator – similar to a lipgloss. However, it’s next to impossible to blend, so I’d recommend this solely for the purpose of highlighting. But be warned, this is ”the one” eye highlighter you will ever need, as it’s quite long-lasting, perfect with any makeup look and a single bottle will last you a looooong time! Oh, yeah, I tried using my pro camera and boy do I suck at this! That’s why I chose two nice SM ladies to distract you from my poor photography skills…
Does anyone know if CHANEL OMBRE PAUPIÈRES eyeshadow has been discontinued?
The review is for shade 15, orchid rose. No doubt, Joues Contraste is one of the most popular blushers out there. Does it live up to the hype? I’m not so sure…
On the plus side:
- good quality and blendable
- small natural hair brush included, along with a nice pouch
- silky smooth texture
- available in 11 colours (UK)
- neither matte nor shimmery
- can come off as orangey and cakey if not applied with a very light hand
- quite pricey
- the brush is pretty useless due to its size
Would I repurchase? Don’t think so.
Once again, I apologise for such a poor quality of my Xperia pics (I got a good quality camera which I still have to get the hang of!) 🙂
Girls, what’s YOUR favourite blusher? xxx, snm
Currently I’m lusting after this:
Has anyone tried it? Or something similar, perhaps? (Such as Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks…) I realised I desperately needed a highlighter after witnessing what contouring can do to an otherwise ordinary face at my MUA lessons…amazing!
So, any opinion on Collistar Light Creator or any other pressed powder highlighter is much appreciated…pretty please! 😉
p.s. I’ve been a bit lazy this month, I know… To make it up to you, I’ve got some gorgeous Chanel staples coming soon…
A girl can dream…
4.) … and last but definitely not least…a legendary Chanel 2.55
A very modest wishlist, I know… 😀
What’s yours? 😉
